Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last time I checked, businesses fail every day in this country and no one even bats an eye. But, God forbid, the big three automakers should go down in a blaze of glory. Throughout the history of this country, failing businesses have made room for more viable ventures where the lessons learned from the previous failures are incorporated in order to bolster future success.

Sam Walton was a massive failure and yet look at what has happened. We are all slaves to the local WalMart; holy crap, if that isn’t capitalism at its finest, then I don’t know what is! Even ‘W’ failed at everything he touched and yet he was elected to the highest office in this country, not once but twice. Well, I don’t know that the second season was really as legit as the first may have been. Needless to say, it happened; we were there, got the t-shirt, and the subprime mortgage. Yeah us!! We win!!

So, here we are, bailing out companies with money that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on and for what I ask. Well, at least we can all rest easy tonight knowing that these folks will soon be running other organizations into the ground! Because if we have learned anything it is that at the end of the day the crappiest return on stockholder value makes for a great resume. Besides, country club memberships are expensive….
